Emagine System Overview
emagine is a web based magazine production system enabling remote users to plan and book-in both editorial and advertisement copy from web enabled Macs or PCs, using standard web browser software to produce certified, high quality print ready pdfs.
Title administration, planning and booking-in is achieved entirely within the system’s user interface. Additionally the system automatically records all user activity and is able to produce a wide range of production and status reports.
All pages produced via the system are processed by Wyndeham Pre-Press servers through specific digital workflows using a unique page reference code. These workflows control all aspects of the production process including file geometry, colour profiles and comprhensive pre-flight reports. Pages are to be produced via the system using either Adobe InDesign or Quark Xpress - the 2 main publishing industry standards. The system does not require any software to be installed on individual computers or servers although in the case of Adobe InDesign, improved production functionality can be achieved by installing the ‘Print to Wyndeham’ plug-in.
All page assets are accessible from directly within the system and, given the correct permissions are able to be downloaded directly to the users computer or forwarded to third parties. The system is both user name and password protected and variable permission levels for individual users can be set. All user data is automatically backed up to offsite servers. The system retains and allows full access to all back issues including links to original page asset files and final pdfs.
